COURSE OVERVIEW
JANUARY 14 – FEBRUARY 14, 2021
Presented by Nature College Namibia on Aru’s beautiful 12,000 hectare Kalakwa Game Reserve, a mere 120 km from Windhoek. The course syllabus for the NQF 2 qualification is based on South African National Skills Program standards. A Cyber Tracker Track and Sign qualification is an additional certificate from Cyber Tracker and the First Aid qualification is an industry standard.

VENUE
The course will be presented on the beautiful Kalakwa Game Reserve which is situated only 120 km from Windhoek. This 12 000 hectare game reserve forms part of the world-renowned Aru Game Lodges and offers the visitor a variety of landscapes, habitat types and an abundance of wildlife. Students will get the opportunity to see a wide variety of plains game, an abundance of bird species and maybe an elusive leopard or cheetah. Students are accommodated in luxury twin-bed tented accommodation and will have access to other lodge amenities such as laundry services, a full cash bar and a swimming pool.

COURSE STRUCTURE
The course will start with a 3 –Day First Aid course which will be presented by an accredited Medical Services Training Provider on the premises. This is a qualification required within the guiding industry and we believe in doing First Aid Training during the guiding course where practical work can be done in the field.
The second part of the course includes nature studies and guiding skills for the Nature Guiding qualification. For this part of the course, students will attend lectures on a daily basis and also have practical field excursions on a daily basis. They will also work on assignments leading up to their final preparations for practical assessments and theoretical exams. Subjects for this qualification include the following:

- Heritage Guiding
The course will end with a final week of Cyber Tracker training. During this training students are taught how to identify and interpret different tracks and signs in the bush and will receive a Cyber Tracker certificate after successful completion. Tracking is an essential skill that enhances any guided experience.
