Join Rebekah Knight, Wildlife artist on an EXCLUSIVE African Safari & Wildlife Art Workshop!

Aru Game Lodges is excited to announce a special workshop for artists. Join renown wildlife artist, Rebekah Knight on a 10-day hosted art workshop. Rebekah’s work features wildlife from North America to Africa. She is inspired by the intimidating feeling of the raw instinct and emotion when she see these animals in the wild. The best way she can describe it is to paint it. She considers birds, particularly waterfowl, to be the comfort zone of her subjects. Through her years of painting waterfowl — much of it for conservation stamp art competitions — she has kindled a fascination and knowledge for them along with an effortlessness in painting feathers. Unlike fur, feathers are found in colors across the entire spectrum and react to light unlike any other natural surface. But although birds have become my emphasis, she quickly developed an equal emphasis in other species. Rebekah’s time spent studying and sketching the world’s fauna has fueled a strong appreciation for nature and has inspired her to travel and photograph wildlife whenever given the chance.  She took the opportunity to travel to Kenya with world-renowned wildlife artist Jan Martin McGuire and a group of other artists to visit the Ol Pejeta Conservancy–the home of Sudan, the world’s last remaining Northern White Rhino who passed away in March 2018 It was an experience among many that drives Rebekah to continue to set her sights on efforts for conservation through art.
